The Jin Ding Award winner's newest city tour picture book!
Comes with a reading guide, landmark introductions, and photos of real-life landmarks for comparison!
Designed to give the reader an appreciation of Beijing from different perspectives

A wordless picture book brought to life by detailed black strokes, A Tour of Beijing sweeps readers to the narrow alleys and big streets of Beijing, drawing out its cultural identity and temporal atmosphere. It also provides points of historical concern for further consideration.

In a Beijing garden, a little girl follows the footsteps of a black cat beyond her door; one foot after the other, she explores the alleys of the city. The girl and the black cat traverse through old alleys and new buildings, but suddenly, the little emperor in an old picture comes to life, bringing them on an adventure through time and space…

With her skillful black lines, Sun seamlessly combines ancient and modern Beijing as girl chases cat and reader chases girl throughout the city. We see places thick with historical significance, from Peking University to the National Palace, the Sanlidun Marketplace to the Beijing Olympics Stadium.

The book comes with a Reading Guide to further the experience and usage of the book. The brochure combines illustrations with real images and introduces to you each landmark depicted by Sun’s hand. With the three chapters "Reading Compass", "Beijing Tour Guide—a Travel Warm-Up", and "Beijing Tour Guide—Here We Go!" the reader can experience Beijing's beauty from every angle.
